Nur Alam, Gopalpur (Tangail): A friendly football match was held at Gopalpur in Tangail on the occasion of the inauguration of the much awaited Padma Bridge. The football friendly football match was attended by local and foreign players. Upazila Administration XI vs Gopalpur Municipality Administration XI. Gopalpur Municipal Administration XI defeated the Upazila Administration 2-1 in the allotted time. On Saturday afternoon (June 25), a friendly football final match was held at the local Suti VM Pilot Government Model High School ground, organized by the Gopalpur Upazila Sports Association. Upazila executive officer was present at the time. Also present were Parvez Mallick, Upazila Parishad Chairman Yunus Islam Talukder Thandu, Upazila Vice Chairman Mir Rezaul Haque, Municipality Mayor Rakibul Haque Chana, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Alim Al Razi, District Bus-Minibus Owners Association Secretary General Golam Kibria Bara Moni. Acting President of Upazila Awami League and Chairman of Alam Nagar Union Prof Abdul Momen, General Secretary of Upazila Upazila Awami League Saiful Islam Talukder Suruj, officials of different departments of the upazila and leaders and workers of different levels of Awami League were also present.
