Madrasa super arrested in Chirirbandar check dishonor case

Salah Uddin, Dinajpur: Superintendent of Basudebpur High Ul Uloom Dakhil Madrasa Rafibullah Sarkar Rafiqul was arrested by Chirirbandar police on Friday night in a check dishonor case at Chirirbandar in Dinajpur. He was handed over to the court on Saturday. A court had issued an arrest warrant against a woman candidate named Shahrabanu for accepting Rs 4 lakh and cheating her. It is learned that Rafiqul Islam took Rs 4 lakh from Mahmudul Hasan Sumon, the husband of Shahrbanu, who was hoping for a job in 2014, promising to give him a job at Basudebpur High Ul Uloom Dakhil Madrasa in Chirirbandar. Chirirbandar police arrested him at Shantirbazar of the upazila on Friday night. According to the complaint, Rafibullah Sarkar, the superintendent of the madrasa, took Rs 4 lakh from her husband Mahmudul Hasan Sumon in 2014 by guaranteeing a job to Shahrbanu, daughter of Abdul Jabbar of Pirganj Bazar near Rafiqul Islam. The victim's family wants a refund as they could not get a job later. Talbahana at one stage handed over a check of his own account and gave a bond on the stamp. The check is dishonored as there is enough money in the bank. Finally, the victim's husband Mahmudul Hasan Sumon filed a case in the court. When the wise judge issued the arrest warrant, the Chirirbandar police arrested the accused superintendent and handed him over to the court. Chilirbandar Police Station in-charge Bazlur Rashid said Superintendent Rafibullah Sarkar arrested Rafiqul on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by a wise court and handed him over to the court on Saturday. Court police in-charge Moniruzzaman said there was no hearing in the court till 4 pm on Saturday.
