Manager of Pabna sexually arousing syrup jailed and fined

Tofazzal Hossain, Pabna: Pabna District Detective Police (DB) has raided a factory in Pabna Sadar Upazila for making sexually stimulating syrup. The mobile court has fined the company Tk 50,000 and sentenced the factory manager to three months imprisonment. The raid was carried out at noon on Thursday (June 9) at the Impel Laboratory factory in Himaitpur Union of the upazila. The operation was led by Mobile Court Executive Magistrate Mamun Sarkar and DB Police Officer-in-Charge Ataur Rahman Khandaker. During the operation, a large quantity of various sexually stimulating ginseng syrups, syrups and Viapel tablets were recovered. Mirajul Islam, the manager of the company, was arrested and the company was sealed. DB Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ataur Rahman Khandaker said the raid was carried out on a factory called 'Impel Laboratory' on the basis of secret information. During this time a large quantity of sexually stimulating syrup was seized from the factory. Later, Executive Magistrate Mamun Sarkar sentenced Mirajul Islam, the manager of the company, to three months 'imprisonment without pay and another three months' imprisonment without payment of a fine of Tk 50,000. He was later sent to jail.
