After inspecting the site on June 8, he visited Chittagong Medical College Hospital to see the victims of the tragic accident. He spoke to the doctors, nurses, volunteers, relatives and family members of the injured, inquired about the condition of the injured and wished them a speedy recovery. He wished peace to the souls of the victims and extended his deepest condolences to their bereaved families. According to the Chittagong Metropolitan Police, the IGP later went to the police hospital at Dampara to see the two policemen injured in the accident.
