Narail Correspondent: Five companies have been fined for being underweight and not up to standard food in BSTI's operation in Kolia, Narail. A joint operation by the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI) and the Kalia Upazila Executive Magistrate on Thursday (May 26) at noon imposed a total fine of Tk 20,000 on the companies. The mobile court is headed by Kalia Upazila Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Zahurul Islam and BSTI Inspector Ranjit Mallick. Unhealthy food was destroyed along with a fine of Tk 13,000 to three companies in the market and Tk 6,000 to two other companies for not providing quality food.
