BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been granted permanent bail in a case filed under the Special Powers Act in connection with a petrol bomb attack on a bus at Comilla's Chauddagram on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
Tuesday (May 24) High Court Justice Jahangir Hossain Selim and Justice. A bench comprising Atowar Rahman passed the order. Khaleda Zia's lawyer and BNP law secretary Barrister Kaiser Kamal confirmed the matter.
During the siege of the 20-party alliance in early 2015, several passengers of an Ikon Paribahan bus were burnt to death in a petrol bomb hurled by miscreants at Chauddagram on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. Another 20 people were injured. Two cases were filed in those cases.
