Benapole Correspondent: A 3-pitch gold bar was recovered from the stomach of a Bangladeshi passport passenger from Benapole Immigration. At 9:30 am on Wednesday, two passengers were detained at Benapole Immigration through a joint search by NSI and customs detectives on the basis of secret information. He was later taken to a local night clinic where an X-ray revealed the resemblance of two gold bars on his abdomen. He was later found to be wrapped in black tape twice from his abdomen. By opening the tape, three gold bars were found which weighed approximately 350 grams. The arrested persons were identified as Fahad Uz Zaman Khan, father Nuruzzaman Khan, passport no-A03524619, village Solpara, Thana Palan, district Shariatpur and others accompanying him were Nantu, father Kashem Khan, passport no-A00253448. The two arrested persons have been handed over to Benapole Port Police Station with a case. Officer-in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station OC Kamal Uddin Bhuiyan said the two gold smugglers were arrested by NSI and customs detectives and handed over to the police station. They will be sent to the wise court tomorrow.
