It is learned that class teacher Rafiqul Islam Masum hit a student named Matriakter Riya on the head while she was doing math class. According to the student, she started scolding him for taking higher math books instead of ordinary math books in the class by mistake. Then the teacher grabbed a hard cover book and hit him on the head, shouting that he would kill you. After arguing for a long time, he was made to stand for forty minutes in class. At one point he lost consciousness while vomiting due to severe headache.

He was later admitted to the Upazila Health Complex. On-duty doctor Delwar Hossain said the student was hit on the head with something hard. The left side of the head is swollen and injured. The amount of bleeding inside cannot be determined without a CT scan.

Upon receiving the news, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Parvez Mallick went to the hospital to see the injured student.

He said no one has the right to physically or emotionally hurt a student. Legal action will be taken against that teacher.
