Two drowned in Shibganj river

Faruk Hossain, Chapainawabganj: Two children Abdul Momin (12) and Abu Taher (11) drowned in Pagla river in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.

The accident took place in Kansat area of ​​the upazila on Tuesday (May 24) afternoon. They are Abdul Momin, son of Mostakim of Jhabubazar area of ​​Kansat Union and Abu Taher son of Mujibur of the same area.

Shibganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Chowdhury Jobayer Ahmed confirmed the news.

The OC also said that in the afternoon, four friends from home went for a walk along the Pagla river and took a bath in the river. Two friends drowned in the river without knowing how to swim. The locals recovered the bodies of the two children and took them home.

Shibganj Police Station OC said police were sent to the spot after receiving the news. The bodies of those two are at home. And preparations for the burial shroud are underway.
