Russia has banned 983 people, including President Joe Biden, from traveling to the United States. The sanctions include US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) chief William Burns. The United States, the United Kingdom and other Western countries have been imposing sanctions on Russia since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. They have warned that sanctions could destroy Russia's economy. Russia imposed sanctions on British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on April 16 after sanctions were imposed on Russia. At the time, Russia imposed sanctions on more than 10 UK ministers and MPs. Five days later, Russia imposed sanctions on US Vice President Kamala Harris and Tech Giants chief Mark Zuckerberg. Russian President Vladimir Putin's two daughters, Maria Vrontsova and Katerina Tikhonovar, have been banned from taking part in the sanctions over the Ukraine war.
