50 years of diplomatic relations: Greetings to the Prime Minister by the President of Spain

Kabir Al Mahmoud, Spain: Spanish President Pedro Sanchez has lauded the wise, visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her responsible, active and visible role in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh and in the regional and international arena including the United Nations.

The President of Spain expressed this view in his congratulatory message on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Spain. On this occasion, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also sent a congratulatory message.

This information has been given in the notification sent from the Bangladesh Embassy in Madrid, Spain on Sunday (May 15). Spain granted diplomatic recognition as an independent country on 12 May 1962.

According to the embassy, ​​in a joint declaration entitled "Together for a Reinforced Multilateral Development Day" adopted in 2020 at the 65th founding anniversary of the United Nations in Madrid. He has expanded.

Spain is currently Bangladesh's fourth export destination. Spanish entrepreneurs and investors are expanding their presence in Bangladesh. Pedro Sanchez expressed confidence that Spain would work closely with Bangladesh as a close partner to increase the scope and diversity of trade and to exploit the immense potential that exists in various fields of bilateral cooperation.

On the sidelines of the COP-25 conference held in Madrid in 2019, Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina recalled her bilateral meeting with the President of Spain and expressed hope that in the coming days industrial and technological assistance, digital connectivity, power and energy, logistics and transport infrastructure development, climate change. Mutual cooperation in the fields of co-operation, education, culture and research will be further expanded.

Bangabandhu's daughter also called for increasing Spanish investment in various potential sectors of Bangladesh. In his congratulatory message, the Prime Minister invited the President of Spain to visit Bangladesh at a mutually convenient time.
