They don't even know what BNP really wants: Obaidul Quader

Awami League General Secretary, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that they themselves do not know what the BNP really wants.

He said, now it is the question of the people, what does BNP really want? Which they themselves do not know. They want a caretaker government, sometimes neutral and sometimes a national government.

Obaidul Quader said this at a briefing at his residence on Sunday (May 15) morning.

In response to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's statement that the people were looking at the BNP leaders, the bridge minister retorted, "In fact, the people are not looking at it.

The general secretary of the Awami League said that those who failed in the movement and election, could not even take out a procession for the release of the party chairperson, did not benefit from the people looking at that party.

Mentioning that the people are confused today seeing the demands of the BNP leaders, he said that the BNP is now on the edge of the abyss while engaging in negative politics.

"The country and the nation are going through a transition period," said Obaidul Quader in response to the BNP secretary general's remarks.

Obaidul Quader further said that it is a good thing that BNP should come to the streets without any secret conspiracy. We welcome any of their peaceful political activities.

He warned the BNP leaders that in the name of the movement, if arson is carried out again, arson is carried out, people are burnt to death by petrol bombs, houses of minorities are attacked, if BNP tries to destroy the country, people's lives will be lost. Proper response will be given along with the countrymen for protection.

Awami League general secretary said their leader Tareq Rahman was convicted, a fugitive accused. 22 thousand crore has been smuggled from Bangladesh. The FBI investigated and found him and testified in a Bangladeshi court.

Meanwhile, Obaidul Quader conveyed heartfelt greetings and congratulations from the Awami League on the occasion of Buddhist Purnima, the main religious festival of the Buddhist community.
