News Desk: AHM Safiquzzaman, Director General (DG) of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department, has said that no business can be done in edible oil trade without a receipt from next Friday.
He made the remarks at a meeting of the Department of Consumer Protection with retailers and wholesalers on Tuesday (March 6th).
He said the country has sufficient oil reserves to meet the demand till Ramadan. Attempts are being made to raise prices by creating a fog of crisis.
DG AHM Safiquzzaman said that no one's irregularities in the marketing system will be accepted in any way. Even if the country has sufficient edible oil reserves, action will be taken against those who are trying to increase prices by creating an artificial crisis.
He further said that various government departments are working to control the volatility of edible oil prices in the country. At the meeting, the wholesalers and retailers assured their full cooperation in conducting the business properly.
