Physical class-examination postponed in JB

News Desk: All classes of physical examinations have been postponed at Jagannath University (JU) due to increased coronavirus infection. This decision will be effective till February 8. However, all year classes will be taken online to avoid session clutter. The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the university on Friday (January 21). At the end of the meeting, the vice chancellor of the university. Imdadul Haque said, ‘All physical exams at Jagannath University will be closed. However, online classes will continue.

The decision will be made later if the infection subsides in two weeks. Regarding the ongoing examinations, the Vice-Chancellor said, "The decision will be taken in consultation with the Dean of the Faculty and the Chairmen of the Departments. It is learned that the pre-selection test for BUET admission was held on October 20 and 21. Later on 8th November final admission test was held. Meanwhile, the cabinet department has issued a directive to close educational institutions till February 8 due to the spread of coronavirus. This information was given in a notification on Friday (January 21). Universities, like schools and colleges, will take similar measures in their respective fields, the circular said.

This instruction will be effective from Friday. On the other hand, Health Minister Zahid Malek said at a function on Friday afternoon, "Hospital beds will not remain empty as the rate of infection continues to rise. The number of victims in schools has also increased. As a result, all educational institutions will be closed for the next two weeks.

It is learned that when the corona infection started, all the educational institutions were declared closed on March 16, 2020. The leave was extended from time to time. After about a year and a half, the educational institution was opened in September 2021.
