There may be rain in 3 parts of the country, cold wave is blowing in 4 districts

News Desk: Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet in the next 24 hours - light rain is expected in these three divisions, the Meteorological Department said. The agency also said that a mild cold wave was sweeping over four northern districts on Thursday (January 20th).

Thursday is the 8th day of the month of Magh. At this stage of Magh, the intensity of winter has increased in different parts of the country. The lowest temperature of 9.3 degree Celsius was recorded in Rajshahi on Thursday.

Besides, the minimum temperature in the morning was 9.6 degrees Celsius at Ishwardi in Pabna, 9.8 degrees Celsius at Badalgachhi in Naogaon and 10 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat in Kurigram. The temperature in Panchagarh's Tentulia has risen to 10.1 degrees Celsius, up from 9.6 degrees yesterday. The minimum temperature in Dhaka is 14 degrees Celsius.

The highest temperature in the country on Wednesday was 27.8 degrees Celsius in Teknaf.

Meteorologist Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick said that light rain or drizzle is likely in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in the next 24 hours from 9 am today (Thursday). Light to moderate fog can fall anywhere in the country from midnight to morning.

He also said that day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country at this time.

Abul Kalam Mallick further said that mild cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon and Kurigram districts and it may continue.

According to the Meteorological Department, the increase in western light pressure is located in the foothills of the Himalayan region of West Bengal and adjoining areas. The extension of the subcontinental high pressure zone is located in West Bengal and adjoining areas. The normal seasonal light pressure extends to the South Bay.
