Md. Mozaherul Quader, Chittagong Correspondent: 3 houses in Chandnaish of Chittagong have been burnt down in the fire. It is learned that the houses of Md. Abu Taher, Md. Nurul Islam and Md. Mohsin were set on fire in Hashimpur Bahulipara of the upazila on Sunday afternoon (January 9). The fire is said to have started from the kitchen furnace. Local re-elected UP member Idris Janan said the damage to the three burnt houses was estimated at Rs 16-18 lakh. Newly elected Hashimpur UP Chairman Advocate Khorshed-bin Ishaq visited the spot and paid cash to the victims.
Meanwhile, local MP Bir Muktijoddha Alhaj Md. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury directed UN and Chandnaish to make necessary arrangements for the cooperation of the cremated family and he sent Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Riyad Hossain for inspection. In this regard, the visiting officer said that a report has been sent to the deputy commissioner for the necessary work including the details of the loss of 3 affected families.
