Even if BNP does not come to dialogue, EC formation will not stop: Obaidul Quader

Awami League general secretary and bridge minister Obaidul Quader has expressed hope that the BNP will move ahead to form a strong election commission by moving away from negative politics.

He further said that whether anyone comes to the dialogue or not, the formation of Election Commission will not stop.

Obaidul Quader made the remarks at a briefing at his residence on Wednesday (December 29).

In response to the BNP secretary general's statement, the Awami League general secretary said, "The President's dialogue is meaningless and will not resolve the crisis in this dialogue. The same procedure that was followed in the formation of the Election Commission is being followed again."

Mentioning that an election commissioner has been appointed from the BNP list last time too, Obaidul Quader said, "A strong election commission cannot be formed by speaking in the media." In order to form an election commission, certain procedures have to be followed. This will prove whether the BNP wants a strong election commission or wants to create controversy. '

The Awami League general secretary also remarked that the BNP's multi-party joke and voterless elections had torn the country out of democracy.

He said, "The BNPE wanted to create the grave of democracy by creating one and a half crore fake voters." The BNP is completely undemocratic and the father of looting politics. Even if he utters the words of democracy in his mouth, he cherishes communalism and opportunism in his heart. '

‘Not government, lies and BNP are now synonymous. Due to the endless lies of the BNP leaders, no trace of truth can be found in their statements. From the beginning of Begum Zia's case till now, they have been relying on lies and anti-politics. '

Obaidul Quader also said that BNP leaders were politicizing Begum Zia's treatment. Sheikh Hasina has set an example of generosity and humanity towards Begum Zia. But the BNP does not have that sense of gratitude.

Obaidul Quader said senior BNP leaders are now on the sidelines. Whoever or under whose direction the team is running, they do not understand the reality of the field. There is no involvement with the people. The only target of the BNP now is to seize power by any means and get involved in looting.
