New instructions for Umrah passengers

News Desk: New guidelines have been issued regarding the health of the pilgrims going for Umrah Hajj in Saudi Arabia. The directive was issued in a joint statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Ministry of Interior on Saturday (October 16th).

On the same day, the notification was also sent to all the airlines carrying Umrah passengers from Bangladesh including Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The new directive will be effective from October 18.

International Umrah passengers will be able to use full seats in buses and private cars, the notification said. However, in the case of hotels, the maximum number of people per room will be 2. Earlier, passengers used to leave 50 percent of the seats in buses and cars empty.

It will no longer be mandatory for passengers going for Umrah to wear a mask in an open space (with some exceptions). However, the mask must be worn in a closed place.

Worshipers will be able to go to the Al-Haram Mosque in Makkah (Kaaba Sharif area) and the Nawabi Mosque in Medina to the fullest of their capacity and perform prayers. Staff working here and incoming visitors must wear full-time masks.

For Umrah, prayers, pilgrimage, as before, you have to take an appointment from Umrah Company through Tasriya or Taokkalna app. However, no one can go to these places without taking the full dose of the vaccine or making an appointment in Tawakkalna.

Earlier, after being closed for 18 months, the Saudi government gave the opportunity to Bangladeshis to perform Umrah Hajj from August 10. However, two doses of corona vaccine are mandatory for passengers.
