International Desk: A Russian L-410 model plane has crashed. It killed 18 people. The plane was carrying 23 passengers.

The accident happened at 9:23 a.m. local time on Sunday (October 10) in central Russia's Tatarstan, according to the country's Ministry of Emergency Situations. It killed 18 people.

The ministry further said that 6 people have been rescued. Two pilots were also among those killed in the crash.

A similar accident in September this year killed four people and injured 12 in Siberia.

In 1980, the Czech Republic built the L-410 Turboled, a short-range, twin-engine portable aircraft.
