Rice-flour-oil prices have gone up in the capital's markets

News Desk: In the last one week, the prices of rice, flour and oil have increased in the markets of the capital. The prices of lentils, onions, garlic, dried chillies, turmeric, chicken and other spices have also gone up. Such information has come up in the report of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).

TCB has prepared this report with the price information of Shahjahanpur, Malibagh Bazar, Karwan Bazar, Badamtali Bazar, Sutrapur Bazar, Shyambazar, Kachukhet Bazar, Moulvibazar, Mohakhali Bazar, Uttara Azampur Bazar, Rahmatganj Bazar, Rampura and Mirpur-1 Bazar.

According to the company, the price of fine rice (Miniket, Nazir) has risen by 1.6 percent in the last one week. As a result, Miniket and Nazirshail rice are now being sold at Rs 56-58 per kg. In addition to fine rice, prices of medium quality pajamas and creeper rice have also gone up. Pajamas and Lata rice are being sold at Tk 50-56 per kg, an increase of 2.91 per cent during the week.

The price of open flour has gone up the most in the last one week. Open flour is now being sold at Rs 42-45 per kg, an increase of 18 per cent in a week. The list of price increases also includes packet flour. Packets of flour are being sold at Tk 45-50 per kg with an increase of 1.8 percent. However, the price of packet flour has come down a bit. Packets of flour are being sold at Rs 34-40 per kg, down 1.33 per cent.

According to TCB, loose and bottled soybean oil and palm oil prices have risen in the past one week. The price of loose soybean oil has risen by 37 percent to Rs 130-136 per liter. The price of 5 liters of bottled soybean oil has increased by 1.72 percent and is being sold at Rs 80 to Rs 620. The price of a liter of soybean oil has risen by 3.45 percent in a week. As a result, a liter of soybean oil is being sold at Tk 145-155.

The price of loose palm oil has risen by 2.62 per cent to Rs 125 to Rs 130 per liter. Palm super prices have risen 3.14 percent in the past week. The super palm is now being sold at 127-135 rupees per liter.

Along with oil, prices of lentil pulses and domestic and imported onions have gone up in the last one week. The price of medium lentil pulses has increased by 1.54 percent and is being sold at Rs 98 to Rs 100 per kg. The price of domestic onion has increased by 9.20 percent and is being sold at Rs 45-50 per kg. The price of imported onion has increased by 12.72 percent and is being sold at Tk 40.48 per kg, according to TCB.

According to the TCB, the price of imported garlic has risen by 4.6 percent in the last one week. The imported garlic is being sold at 100-120 rupees per kg. With this, the price of domestic and imported dried chillies has gone up. In one week, the price of domestic dried chilli has increased by 5.61 percent and is being sold at Tk 180-200 per kg. The price of imported dried chilli has increased by 1.75 percent and is being sold at Tk 250-300 per kg.

The list includes domestic turmeric, imported ginger, cardamom, coriander and broiler chicken. The price of domestic turmeric has gone up by 2.22 per cent in the last one week to Tk 220-240 per kg, according to TCB. The price of imported ginger has increased by 9.52 percent. With this increase in price, imported ginger is now being sold at Rs 90-140 per kg.

The price of small cardamom has increased by 3.6 percent in a week. Through this, the price of cardamom has gone up from Tk 2,200 to Tk 3,300 per kg. The price of coriander powder has increased by 7.33 percent and is being sold at 120 to 140 rupees per kg. The price of broiler chicken has increased by 7.45 percent and is being sold at Tk 180 to 180 per kg.

On the other hand, the prices of domestic ginger and eggs have come down in the last one week. The price of domestic ginger has been reduced by 2.73 percent in a week and is being sold at Rs 180 to Rs 200 per kg. The price of eggs has been reduced by 3.90 percent and hali is being sold at 36 to 38 rupees.
