Combing operations resumed in the DNCC area to control dengue

News Desk: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has started combing operation again to control dengue. The combing operation in each ward (54 wards) will continue till August 8 (except Friday).

The campaign was officially inaugurated on Tuesday (July 27th) from the Rupnagar area of ​​the capital's Mirpur. Selim Reza, Chief Executive Officer of Dhaka North City Corporation inaugurated the combing operation.

At the time, the CEO of the DNCC said, "We do not want to allow the spread of dengue in any way during the Corona epidemic. Therefore, we as well as everyone must be aware." Our combing campaign is aimed at creating awareness among all. This activity will be conducted simultaneously in all our 54 wards till 6th August. We have increased the mobile court this time than before.

Brigadier General Jobaidur Rahman, chief health officer of the DNCC, said 80 per cent mosquito control was possible if people were a little more aware and dumped the accumulated water in three days. We are working to make ordinary citizens aware. One of our operations ended on July 19. Now I am starting the campaign anew. About five thousand workers including waste management department and engineering department are taking part in this campaign.

Earlier, Dhaka North City Corporation conducted a combing operation to eradicate Aedes mosquito from July 11 to 19. DNCC public relations officer Abul Bashar Mohammad Tajul Islam gave information about the operation.

Analyzing the data provided by him, it has been seen that Aedes mosquito larvae were found in a total of 562 places by inspecting 6,618 installations in 54 wards in a few days. At that time, mosquito extermination workers sprayed larvicide in a total of 65,282 installations. A total of 69 cases were filed in 12 regular and mobile courts and fines of Tk 10.69 lakh were collected.
