The prices of vegetables and fish have come down in the markets of the capital

News Desk: After two days of high prices after Eid, the prices of vegetables have come down in the markets of the capital. With that, the number of vegetable shop openings has increased. However, most fish shops are still closed. Those who have opened it are selling it at a higher price as the supply of fish is less.

On Saturday (July 24), various markets in the capital were visited, with several vegetables being sold at Rs 20 to Rs 30 per kg. Buyers had to pay over Tk 40 to buy these vegetables yesterday.

Regarding the reduction in vegetable prices, traders said that there is still sacrificial meat in people's homes. As a result, the demand for vegetables is less. But after two days of closure, almost all the shops have reopened and the supply of vegetables in the market has increased. Due to this the price of vegetables has come down.

As before, carrots and tomatoes are still being sold at the highest prices. However, the price of these two vegetables has come down to Tk 50 per kg in one day.

Manvede carrots are being sold at 100 to 120 rupees per kg, which was 150 to 160 rupees yesterday. And ripe tomatoes, which were sold at 150 to 160 rupees per kg yesterday, are now available at 100 to 110 rupees.

Along with carrots and tomatoes, prices of brinjal, squid, potato, squash, cucumber, banana and papaya have also come down. The price of eggplant, which was sold at Tk 60 to 70 per kg yesterday, has come down to Tk 30 to 40.

Shrimp is being sold at 40 to 50 rupees per kg, which was 60 to 70 rupees yesterday. Karlar is being sold at 50 to 60 rupees per kg, which was 60 to 70 rupees yesterday. Chichinga is being sold at 30 to 40 rupees per kg, which was 50 to 60 rupees yesterday.

Patal, which was sold at Tk 30 to 40 per kg yesterday, is being sold at Tk 20 less. Raw papaya sold at Rs 40 to 50 per kg is available at Rs 25 to 30 per kg. Buyers of glass collars sold at Rs 35 to Rs 40 can buy them at Rs 20 to Rs 25.

Also, a kg of potato is available at 20 to 30 rupees, which was 40 to 50 rupees yesterday. Raw chillies, which were sold at Tk 30-35 yesterday (250 grams), are now being sold at Tk 15-20. Berbati is available at Rs 50 to Rs 60 per kg, which was earlier Rs 60 to Rs 80.

Regarding the price of vegetables, Abdur Rahim, a trader of Malibagh Hajipara Bau Bazar, said, "We also opened a few shops yesterday." There was less goods in the yard. Today everyone is gone. The supply of vegetables in the yard has also increased. Due to this the prices of all types of vegetables have come down.

He said the demand for vegetables is less now as there is sacrificial meat in the house. But after two days, if the demand for vegetables increases, then the price will also increase. Now people are buying vegetables for 20-30 rupees, they will buy these vegetables for 50-60 rupees after two days.

Khilgaon businessman said. Saidur said that there were less vegetables in the yard yesterday. Today there is no shortage of vegetables in the yard. The price is also lower than yesterday. As a result we are able to sell vegetables at a slightly lower price.

Meanwhile, most of the shops were closed after going to the fish market. Not all types of fish are available to those who have opened. Visiting Rampura Bazaar, it is seen that only three fish shops are open. These shops are seen selling shrimp, rui, mrigel fish.

Traders want 600 to 750 rupees per kg of shrimp, which was 600 to 750 rupees before Eid. Rui fish is being sold at 320 to 350 rupees per kg, which was 240 to 320 rupees before Eid. However, Mrigel fish is being sold at Rs 220 to Rs 250 per kg as before.

Monir, a market trader, said everyone was still eating the sacrificial meat. There is no demand for fish. Due to this, most of the fish shops are still closed. Fish is also coming less in the yard. The fish market may return to normal from next week.

After going to the meat market, the beef and mutton shops were closed. However, some chicken shops are available. Boiler chicken is being sold at 130 to 140 rupees per kg in these shops as before. Layer chicken is being sold for 230 to 240 rupees. And golden chicken is being sold for 200 to 230 rupees per kg.
