Michael Das, Rangunia Correspondent: The first day of the all-out lockdown has been spent in Rangunia, Chittagong, with almost no vehicles, few roads, few open shops, and a strict police presence. Chittagong Assistant Superintendent of Police (Rangunia-Raozan Circle) said. Anwar Hossain Shamim stayed in the field all day and supervised the police activities to ensure lockdown.

During this time many vehicles were sued, fined, and detained at different points of the Upazila. According to eyewitness sources, the police started playing an active role in the lockdown operation in Rangunia on Wednesday (April 14) morning. Police have set up check posts on important roads and raids have been carried out. At these checkpoints, the vehicles are stopped and the identities of the passengers and the reasons for leaving the road are being asked. Professionals involved in emergency services are being turned away by others with permission to cross the checkpoint.

Police have been conducting raids in different areas of the Upazila including Chandraghona, Roazar Hat, Godown, and Shantir Hat since this morning. The police officer also advised everyone to follow the hygiene rules to cope with the second wave of the corona. It is learned that on Wednesday (April 14) from 6 am to midnight on April 21, 13 strict restrictions have been imposed on normal life.

During these eight days, public transport, buses, trains, launches, domestic and international flights will be closed. All government, semi-government, autonomous, and private offices will be closed. Officers-employees must be in their respective workplaces (work areas).

Shopping malls and other shops will also be closed. However, banks, raw material markets, and daily necessities shops will be open at certain times. You can't go out of the house in any way unless absolutely necessary. However, during this period, the industries will continue to operate under their own management following the hygiene rules. Ensure that workers are brought and taken by their respective organizations under their own transport management.

All kinds of emergency services including agricultural labor transport and media will continue. Meanwhile, according to the new guidelines, bank transactions will continue from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm unless further instructions are given except for weekly and public holidays. However, the bank will be open till 3 pm to complete other ancillary functions.
