News Desk: Hepatology Society Bangladesh has given special advice for patients suffering from liver disease ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. They have given special advice to those suffering from liver disease ahead of the upcoming month of Ramadan.

For whom fasting is risky

• Symptoms of jaundice or acute hepatitis.

•  People with cirrhosis of the liver who currently have abdominal water or jaundice.

• Vomiting or black stools.

• Treated with band or EVL in the esophagus - those whose speech or behavior is inconsistent.

• Has diabetes and is at risk of hypoglycemia.

• People with liver cancer whose liver function is impaired.

Those who can fast

• People with cirrhosis of the liver who are in the early stages and do not have the symptoms mentioned above.

• Fasting is beneficial for people with fatty liver.

• Hepatitis 'B' virus carriers (HBsAg + Carrier) people.

• Chronic hepatitis B and chronic hepatitis C.

• People with liver cancer whose liver is functioning normally.

• Liver transplant recipients can fast under the supervision of a skilled liver specialist.

• People with Gilbert syndrome can fast through regular serum bilirubin monitoring.
