Bi-annual election of Lohagara Press Club in Lockdown

Prince Minhaj, Lohagara Chittagong Correspondent: The pre-announced election of Lohagara Press Club, the lifeblood of journalists working in Lohagara, Chittagong, has been postponed in order to implement the announced lockdown due to the rising rate of global epidemic coronavirus infection and considering health risks to journalists.

Convener of the Lohagara Press Club Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil and member secretary Delwar Hossain Rashidi said that the election of the Lohagara Press Club to be held on April 5 has been postponed to prevent the spread of the infection.

Arman Babu Rommel, chief election commissioner and chairman of the Upazila BRDB for the biennial election of the Lohagara Press Club, said the bi-annual election of the Lohagara Press Club was held on April 5 to implement the announced lockdown due to the rising global epidemic of coronavirus infection and health risks to journalists. He also said that the date of re-election will be announced if the situation is normal.
