Narsingdi residents celebrate the golden jubilee of independence in Madrid

Spain Correspondent: Narsingdi Welfare Society, one of the regional organizations of expatriate Bangladeshis in Spain, has celebrated the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence. On this occasion, a discussion meeting and prayer mahfil was organized on Saturday (March 26) night at a local restaurant in Madrid, the capital of the country. Al-Amin, President of Narsingdi Welfare Society and Senior Co-President of Bangladesh Association in Spain, presided over the function.

President of Bangladesh Association in Spain Kazi Enayetul Karim Tareq was the chief guest at the function jointly conducted by General Secretary Abdul Ghaful Milon and Saeed Anwar. Maulana Asaduzzaman Razzaq Murshed Alam Taher, Community Leader Abdul Qayyum Masuk, Greater Sylhet Association Member Secretary Abu Jafar Russell, Narsingdi Welfare Society in Spain International Affairs Secretary Yasin Sikder.

Besides, the leaders of the Narsingdi Welfare Society are Zahirul Islam, Liton Ahmed, Alamin Ahmed, Shahid Ahmed, Kamrul Islam, and others. At that time, the speakers said, we have gained this freedom in exchange for a lot of blood and sacrifice. The nation has got its own flag, the right to speak its own language and live as it pleases.

So this contribution of all freedom fighters, heroines, and heroic martyrs is never to be forgotten. It is not possible to repay their debts. But it is possible to beautify the golden Bengal left by them if we all work together for the development of our respective areas.

In his speech, Alamin Mia thanked Tithi and called upon the new generation to share the history of independence. At the end of the discussion, special prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the souls of all the martyrs of the great war of liberation and peace, prosperity, and progress of the country. Later, the ceremony ended with dinner.
