News Desk: Due to the increase in coronavirus infection in the country, from now on, not all passengers will sit side by side in all trains, leaving one seat vacant. Bangladesh Railway took this decision on Tuesday (March 29) night. All intercity, mail, and commuter trains will run with half seats vacant.

Half of the total seats on each train will be sold. 50% of the total seats will be sold. Tickets are available over the counter and online. This information has been confirmed by Sardar Shahadat Ali, Additional Director General (Operations) of Bangladesh Railway.

He said four levels of security would be ensured at each station, adding that the train would run in compliance with hygiene rules. The train will be sprayed with disinfectant. There will be hand sanitizers for passengers. No one will be allowed to enter the station without a mask. Also, the body temperature will be measured before the journey. No person with excess temperature will be allowed to travel.
