News Desk: Faisal Islam (24), a young Bangladeshi, won the Commonwealth Award this year for his three-wheeled vehicle known as 'Gariber Ambulance'. This young Bangladeshi has been selected as the Commonwealth Young Person of the Year this year for his special contribution to the healthcare of the poor.

The award was announced last Wednesday. News Arab News. He is being awarded seven thousand US dollars with an honorary crest. Received this award for his project called Safewheel. In 2016, one of Faisal's uncles died without treatment without an ambulance. From then on, he started this low-cost ambulance project with his two friends Rafiqul Islam (26) and Anas Mallick (25). In 2019, their service project Safe Wheel was launched for the first time.

It is basically a specially made ambulance for a three-wheeled autorickshaw. The cost of this vehicle which is able to move easily on rural roads is also much less. The safe wheel has been re-launched since last month after being shut down due to a corona outbreak last year.

In 2019, a pilot project was launched in Naogaon with 10 ambulances. At this time one thousand villagers were given this service. There was a huge response. For this reason, three young people went ahead with this project to extend this service to the entire country, especially among poor people. At present this service is running in hundreds of villages of Feni.
