Job Description / Responsibility

• As per the Annual Operation Plan (AOP) target, ensure the most vulnerable and marginalised populations (persons with disabilities and transgender people) are being selected as programme participants of Skills Development Programme, following the standard selection criteria
• Ensure distribution of assistive device to learners in consultation with experts
• Assess the workplace suitability and accessibility for the persons with disabilities, transgender individual and women in non-conventional trades (NCT)
• Arrange and facilitate soft skills training for peer leaders
• Conduct frequent field visits to follow up the training of learner with disability, transgender learners and female learners in NCT in the classroom and workplace
• Follow up job placement of learner with disabilities, transgender learners, female learners in NCT
• Coordinate with external stakeholders and develop networks with various GOs, NGOs (DPO, Social Service Department) which work for disadvantaged groups
• Collaborate with District Manager, Programme Organiser, Field Officer and other project staffs to provide time to time support to different projects of Skills Development Programme
• Prepare observation reports on training and follow up the field visits
• Document best practices (e.g. writing success stories with relevant photos) from the field
• Represent Skills Development Programme in various social inclusion related initiatives and events, both internally and externally
• Support in organising various training and workshops within and outside Dhaka as per the need of the project
• Establish a safeguarding culture across all level of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
• Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so

Educational Requirements

Bachelors in Social Science / Arts, having concentration in Gender Studies / Sociology / Anthropology from any recognised university / institution with minimum 2nd division/ class or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations. Candidates holding Masters Degree will have added advantage

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years’ of experience in related field, with practical work experience in the area of gender mainstreaming, social inclusion, disability inclusion and community engagement and mobilisation
• Commitment to the principles of inclusive approaches to programming that encourages full participation of individuals regardless of sex, disability status, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or other marginalised status
• Experience in building capacity of local stakeholders on gender and disability inclusion issues
• Understanding on key development issues in the context of urban and rural Bangladesh
• Excellent team player and proactive attitude in building relationships
• Good command in operating Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and other relevant applications
• Collaborative team player, willing to tackle the unexpected, embrace change and work cooperatively in diverse group situations
• Good command in Bangla and English
• Ability to work under pressure in a high volume environment, execute multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines
• Ability to comply with confidentiality and specific to sensitive matters or situations as they arise
• Knowledge and sensitisation on gender and diversity issues are mandatory
