The workplace was determined through lottery for 465 policemen transferred from Cox's Bazar

News Desk: 485 policemen of different ranks from Cox's Bazar district have recently been posted in Sylhet range in the public interest. These police officers and members were posted in four districts of Sylhet Range through lottery on Sunday (October 11) afternoon.

At the initiative of Sylhet District Police, a special briefing was organized at the Shaheed SP Shamsul Haque Auditorium of Sylhet Police Line for all the police personnel who joined Sylhet Range. Sylhet Range DIG Mofiz Uddin Ahmed addressed the function as the chief guest. Additional DIG Joydev Kumar Bhadra, Sylhet District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Farid Uddin, Range DIG Superintendent of Police Nurul Islam and Shahinul Alam Khan spoke as special guests at the function conducted by Range DIG Superintendent of Police Zedan Al Musa.

Welcoming all the police personnel who joined the Sylhet Range, Range DIG Mofiz Uddin Ahmed said that every police member and officer should serve the people of Sylhet Range with utmost professionalism and sincerity. Everyone needs to be inspired to learn from the mistakes of the past and serve the people in new ventures. Later, in the presence of all, the DIG ordered the immediate transfer of a total of 465 police personnel from newly joined constables to police inspectors to Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Habiganj and Sunamganj districts through lottery.

In order to ensure that no policeman has to visit the office, the responsible persons including computers and photocopy machines are kept ready at the briefing meeting place in advance. The names in the lottery against the vacant post in District Wari were immediately issued to the concerned police members by making office orders. The police personnel expressed their happiness over the order of immediate deployment in the exceptional arrangement and also expressed their gratitude to the DIG and pledged to dedicate themselves to the people-friendly policing with a great vow of service.

Asked about the deployment of such a large number of officers through lottery, Sylhet Range DIG Mofiz Uddin Ahmed said 100 per cent transparency in transfer, recruitment and promotion is being ensured to make Bangladesh Police modern and people friendly with the dedicated efforts of IGP. As part of this, 485 policemen were posted through lottery today and immediate office orders were issued.
