People are the source of power of Awami League, not the barrel of a gun: Obaidul Quader

News Desk: Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the Awami League, has said that the roots of the Awami League are not the barrel of a gun, but the source of power of the Awami League is the people of the country. Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League have taken a place in the hearts of the people as a party of soil and people.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of the delegates' conference of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh IDEB on Saturday (September 12) morning. Quader joined the event via video conference from his official residence.

He said the Awami League has been by the side of the people in every disaster and crisis of the country for the last 60 years, so those who think that the position of the Awami League is like a house of cards are living in a fool's paradise. The Awami League is not a house of cards that will fall if tapped.

Addressing the engineers, the Minister for Road Transport and Bridges said that engineers have to play a strong role in implementing the government's master plan to achieve the goal of a prosperous Bangladesh by 2041. You have to advance the development plan of the government with your own talent and labor as well as strive against any irregularities, corruption and waste.

Quader said that according to experts, the second wave of corona may appear in Bangladesh in the coming winter - so we have to be careful from now on. Masks must be worn compulsorily.
